The Chippery story began more than 10 years ago with a school trip to a big chip factory. The kids, their parents and their teachers watched the chips being made before their eyes. When they tasted the Fresh chips still warm from the cooker, a light bulb went on. A small group made up of entrepreneurs and an engineer from a big chip company pursued their new and crazy idea: what if chips could be made while you watch and eaten Fresh, right away? What if you could keep the Fresh chips, but get rid of the Factory?
Through many trials and many errors the first Chippery Fresh Chip Cooker was created. This solution and a number of improved versions that followed were marketed and sold to independent location operators, and the Fresh chip industry was born.
In 2006, it became clear that Chippery was an idea ahead of its time, but that the market was catching up quickly. Consumers were no longer satisfied with the same old Choices in snacking,

| brought to them by the same old Factory chip conglomerates. Major trends such as Food Miles, All Natural, and the No Genetic Modification Foods movement were growing and spreading into the mainstream. Of course, Chippery had always been committed to these things, even before it was fashionable, and the demand for Fresh Chips took off.
Fresh Chippery chips can now be found as a department inside the stores of many of the leading retailers in North America. From Boise (Albertsons) in the West, to Seattle in the North West (Albertsons) and (Fred Meyer) through the mid-West and up into Canada at innovative, fresh food-focused retailers such as Kroger and Sobeys, shoppers are now getting the opportunity to Choose Fresh, not Factory. You can also see our products made fresh at Canada’s Wonderland, Cedar Point Park, The Pen Centre Mall, St.Catherines and Fat Tuesday Las Vegas.
